Nisa in the UK
Salaam semua,
Nisa here! I've been di UK since September last year (just before Raya, uwa!) and so far it's been an interesting, although at times challenging, experience.
I am studying arah University of Leicester, which had been recently voted University of the Year 2008/9. Leicester is a small town just 1 hr away from London by train, and it's a really peaceful place to live in. Makanan halal pun sanang cari since there are a lot of Muslims living here.
Anyway, will just show you some things I've been up to since kemari:
1. Living in the lab
This is the GIS lab di uni, and I have spent so many hours here mbuat practical and assignments, since some of the programs we need (ArcGiS, Visual Basic 6, etc) are only fully available on campus and in the lab. This is my home away from home (my bilik di uni Hall) away from home (rumah in Brunei).
2. Paris trip
Went last December with two friends. Of course, like all tourists mesti mesti mesti bgambar with two of the most famous Parisian attractions.

For an ex-journalist, this was a big deal! My friend booked three of us (all former Brunei Times employees huhu) an afternoon at the station, where we saw the huge open space where news from around the around are collected, refined and broadcast every day. We even masuk one of those 60s-era dressing rooms where the celebrities usually kana kurung/pamper before drg go on a show.

Well, I think that's enough for one post. I hope this will encourage other ppl to post as well (ehem Wids, Nanang, Bang Leejom, Bang Lokman, etc.)
